Grief is an emotion usually relegated to death. When I first sought to write this piece, I wanted to explore the elements of loss not just tied to death. Loss of a job, loss of a relationship, loss of our hopes and dreams. Grief is all around us if we choose to look. As we experience loss and find ways to examine it (denying it exists, angrily lashing out, seeping into depression, bargaining for the past) I hope we all find peace enough to accept not only the losses, but the process grief can provide us as human beings.
